New Louis Just In Time For Canada Day!
Hey folks! Well, the clever and talented Dan Phelps of Project Herbivore has come up with another doozie of a drawing featuring Louis Riel and Winnipeg's infamous world record holding status of Slurpee Capital of the World. I've silk screened this patriotic image on adult's and kid's t-shirts, dish towels and baby onesies so everyone, young and old can show their pride for our fine city!
And just in time for our neighbourhood summer party, the Canada Day Street Festival in Osborne Village, I've screened a bunch of Manitoba Pride items of all kinds! Festivities start on Wednesday evening, June 30th at 6pm when the streets will be shut down and the party runs all day July 1st with great sales in all the shops (including Sew Dandee, of course!), lots of great music, great food and a great new theme that I'm thrilled about! Canada Street Fest has gone eco friendly in a big way! There will be tons of recycling bins AND compost bins and all of the food and drink vendors have been equipped with biodegradable dishes and utensils to use during the festivities. How awesome is that!? So, bring down your reusable bags and come check out this great party! You might want to bring some sunscreen and an umbrella too considering our crazy weather lately. Hopefully you won't need the umbrella! Let's all cross our fingers for a dry, warm July 1st this year! See you there!

NEW goodies!!
Yesterday the lovely, witty and crafty Miss Rebecca of Everything is Ticketyboo came by the store and brought some new domino pendants as well as some new scrabble tile pendants she's started making! The scrabble tile pendants are different from the ones I currently carry by Pieces of Me Pendants in Ontario.
Rebecca stamps her tiles with sweet images and then seals them with a varnish. She's also been busy cutting up t-shirts and brought by some spaghetti necklaces for the store! Each one is a t-shirt cut in such a way to have several circles all connected making the perfect soft, wrap around accessory for any outfit! Clever girl, that Rebecca! Come check them out along with all the new Threadless shirts I got in this week!

NEW At Sew Dandee!
I'm so exicted! I finally had some room to bring in a fantastic local jewelery designer that I've wanted to carry for a long time now. Gem's by local crafty lady, Emily Fryer. Her work is SO unique, organic and beautiful! You've gotta come check out her pieces in person.
And for the first time in ages, I ordered a bunch of new shirts from Threadless so, the t-shirt racks are full of awesome summer tees!

NEW this week!
Come check out the new jersey dresses that Wanda June brought in this week! Once the summer weather comes back they'll be the perfect piece to wear all summer long! And don't forget, Wanda won't be at Folk Fest this year :( but she WILL be loading Sew Dandee up with all her latest designs so you can still get your Wanda June fix all year long!
I also got in a bunch of new U.S.E.D. seatbelt bags this week! She brought me some new designs too like belt pouches and flat bags that are perfect for laptops. Come get yourself a bag that'll last a lifetime!
And I've been working on some new cards this week, too. You'll find these and MANY more including some great Dad's Day cards here at the shop and online in my Etsy and Artfire shops if you can't make it down to the store.

What's New!
I have to apologize for being a bad blogger lately. I've been preoccupied with the clean up process in the basement here at the store since the flooding on the weekend. Nothing of real monetary value was lost, it's just the clean up that's taking up my time and effort. I'm just trying to look at it as spring cleaning!
Anyway, this week I've picked up a couple new local lines that I know you're gonna love!
I've carried pucker up scarves by local seamstress and designer, Melanie Wesley's line Dizzy Dame but now she's brought me some of her beautiful clothing line plus some of her super unique leather corset cuffs and polka dot zip pouches! I had to snag one of her most adorable I'm A Doll dresses as soon as I saw it. Her sewing is impeccable and her eye for color combos is fantastic. And her up cycled leather corset cuffs are SO COOL! They'd be the perfect accessory for that grad outfit!
Jill Zurzolo brought in a few new spring bags with her signature giant ceramic button. Plus I now carry local crafter, Kami Goertz's line of stuffies called Marathon 1981. They're perfect for young and old and scream monster cuteness!
And I've been trying to find time to make some new bags, too so head on down to the village while the sun is still out and check out what's new here at Sew Dandee! Heck, come down in the rain, too! We're always open and even though the basement is a bit soggy it's always dry on the main floor!
