Hey folks! Well, the clever and talented Dan Phelps of Project Herbivore has come up with another doozie of a drawing featuring Louis Riel and Winnipeg's infamous world record holding status of Slurpee Capital of the World. I've silk screened this patriotic image on adult's and kid's t-shirts, dish towels and baby onesies so everyone, young and old can show their pride for our fine city!
And just in time for our neighbourhood summer party, the Canada Day Street Festival in Osborne Village, I've screened a bunch of Manitoba Pride items of all kinds! Festivities start on Wednesday evening, June 30th at 6pm when the streets will be shut down and the party runs all day July 1st with great sales in all the shops (including Sew Dandee, of course!), lots of great music, great food and a great new theme that I'm thrilled about! Canada Street Fest has gone eco friendly in a big way! There will be tons of recycling bins AND compost bins and all of the food and drink vendors have been equipped with biodegradable dishes and utensils to use during the festivities. How awesome is that!? So, bring down your reusable bags and come check out this great party! You might want to bring some sunscreen and an umbrella too considering our crazy weather lately. Hopefully you won't need the umbrella! Let's all cross our fingers for a dry, warm July 1st this year! See you there!
