SALE SALE SALE WEEEEEOOOOOO!

So, this weekend will be the last weekend to take advantage of the 15% Off Winter Accessory Sale! Rumor has it that we're going back to some springy tempuratures next week which means it's time to pack up those wintery items and roll out the spingy goods! Not to worry though, for those of you still wanting a sweet deal. I'm marking down a bunch of the gently worn clothing to make some room for more spring wear, too so come down and snag up some awesome duds!

Hope to see you all down at the shop soon!

Sew Dandee would LOVE your votes!

Well, it's that time of year again and Sew Dandee would LOVE your
votes! Uptown Magazine has opened up the voting polls for Winnipeg's Best 2010 and Sew Dandee would love to finally make the list! This could be our year but not without your help!

Go here to cast your vote today! And tell your friends!

Even if you don't vote for Sew Dandee, let's see if we can get a lot more actual LOCAL businesses recognized on the list this year! I was so disappointed last year to see places like American Apparel, Earls and Starbucks make the top three so, let's think small businesses not big boxes and chains this time around. What do you say!?

Thanks for suppporting handmade and local business! Stay crafty!

Kinda Bad News Followed By Really Awesome News!

Well, unfortunately the Peep Box Fashion Show that was scheduled to happen on April 11th has been postponed. It was meant to be a fundraiser for the Costume Museum of Canada which is in great need of our financial support. But they've recently had to close their doors and are currently looking for a new space to show their priceless exhibits. We felt that having a fundraiser for a place that is kind of in limbo as far as it's existance goes (which breaks my fashion loving heart) wouldn't be right SOOOOO it's postponed for now. But keep an eye out for a fantastic fashion show once they get settled into a new venue! I'll be sure to keep you posted.

So, that was the bad news. Now for the awesome news! I had all 10 of my outfits all made up and ready for the show so now I've got some fantastic new, spring pieces here at Sew Dandee for your wearing pleasure! Come down today and check them out! It's a collection that I plan on expanding, especially the short pants and shorts! I'm loving this design!
And I had so much fun doing the reworked dresses and tunics. I tell ya, it's tough not keeping them all for myself!

I hope to make my annual trip to Marshall's Fabrics some time soon to load up on some stretch knit so I can get back to making some yoga style pants. I'll be sure to post again when I finally get that checked off my list. In the mean time, check out what else I've sewn up for you!

Showin' Some Crafty Love!

Here I am featuring yet another fantastic Etsy Blogger, Chaucee of Taylor House from Philadelphia! She's a crafter after my own heart as we share a deep love of creating everyday and searching for that priceless vintage find.

First of all, her blog The Searched and Found is BEAUTIFUL! She features some of the most talented crafters I've ever seen and the blog layout is fantastic! You've gotta love a girl who is so in love with craft that she feels the need to share all her 'Searched and Found' finds on a blog where she could strictly promote herself like so many of us do. It's worth a visit if you're itching for inspiration, the perfect gift or a little pick me up!

Her Etsy shop is small but very sweet, too. I'm really diggin' her super chunky knit cowls in such warm colors. She also has some great vintage belts and accessories to top off that perfect outfit. And as if she wasn't generous enough, some of her Etsy listings come with a FREE GIFT! Who doesn't love a free gift!?

You can find Chaucee all over the web on Facebook, Twitter, Etsy and of course on her Blog!

While you're at it, check out Nevita's blog post on yours truly! Thanks, Nevita!

Time to pay it forward!

As a member of the Etsy Blogger Street Team, we're all doing a little feature on a fellow Etsy seller and team member to share some love among us crafty folks! And lucky me, I was featured by the aptly named Darling Dande on her blog. And now it's my turn!

The shop I get to gush about is Sugar Pine Boutique! This crafty Mama from Nevada makes delicious soaps and sews beautiful bags. Her whole shop has a very earthy, warm feel to it and this gift pack would be a wonderful gift for any occasion. Who doesn't like to smell good and feel great about using eco friendly products!? And I often find the cost of shipping to be a huge deterrent when I find soaps I want on Etsy but her shipping prices are fantastic!

She also dabbles in sewing and I'm in LOVE with this neck wrap made with recycled wool sweater pieces. It's a very clever design, in my opinion! And her purses are beautiful with the subdued colors and patterns. And a lot of her sewn items ship for FREE! How awesome is that!?
